The first CPNO-supported block party for 2017 was the Benning Bayou Bash on May 20th. Despite one thunderstorm mid-way through the event, an estimated 100 neighbors and friends enjoyed the crawfish boil and spring party from late afternoon until late night.
Boiled crawfish, potatoes, and sausages were the featured entrée accompanied by a variety of sides provided by neighbors. Keeping with the Louisiana theme, Candler Park neighbor John Perantoni treated guests to tasty, fresh-made beignets topped with powdered sugar.
Organized by Mark and Amy Clement and Peter and Kelly Jo Bluestone, the Benning Bayou Bash included a performance by the Real Ukuladies of Atlanta and avant-garde entertainer Brent Star.
DJ extraordinaire Martin Steib of Lake Claire kept the music going through the evening. Children were entertained by the variety of playground equipment and the thrilling zip line in the Clements’ backyard.
Thanks to the CPNO for supporting this event!
