Zoning topics for October’s CPNO meeting
In addition to votes on several neighborhood zoning variances for home renovations/additions, there will be a vote on City zoning ordinance updates recommended under the Phase II “medium Fixes” zoning changes. These updates include several provisions that will directly impact Candler Park including a change to allow accessory dwelling units within R4 zoning (already allowed in R5), changes to help protect neighborhood character including requirements for front porches and stoops, setback of street facing garages from the front of the house, and street facing front doors and windows. In addition there is a change in requirements for side yard setback variances that reduce allowed maximum height by an amount equal to the side yard non conformity . If you would like to read more about these changes and more, please visit the City website at: https://www.zoningatl.com/ordinance-update-phase-2.html
