A quorum being present the meeting was called to order at 7:06 pm by Dana Fowle, President. The motion to adopt the amended agenda passed.
- Hattie B’s Restaurant will open Thursday, July 12, 2018.
- Candler Park Conservancy – Ken Edelstein, CPNO Representative to the Conservancy, presented written and verbal report of progress on the two primary projects, the Amphitheater and the Active Lawn. Most of the CPNO grant ($60,000) has been spent on the schematic plans and geo-survey. A question raised by one member is: “What is the role of the City of Atlanta in this process?”. Motion to designate Susan Rose to represent the CPNO Board as a stakeholder/interviewee to the Candler Park Conservancy passed.
- L5P CID Findley Plaza Design- Don Bender explained the need for a non-profit organization which will probably be called “Little Five Points Alliance”. He is requesting $5,000 contribution toward this effort. The purpose of the Alliance is to administer the Findley Plaza once the improvements have been completed. Motion that “CPNO contribute $5,000 to Little 5 Alive to create the envisioned Little 5 Alliance” passed.
- Zoning-Bill Morris- There are two applications for set-back variances at 1315 McLendon Avenue and 1379 Marion Street. There is also an application for a variance to sell liquor at the Circle K on 350 Moreland Avenue. The Committee has not met yet due to the July 4th holiday.
- Sidewalk Committee- Dana Fowle, Lexa King, and Roger Bakeman will meet with Silvia Edelstein in an effort to organize a plan for projecting how many sidewalks need repair.
- Website- Roger Bakeman has found someone who can provide better technical support.
- Ideas for the Messenger- Susan Rose requested Don Bender to write an article on the Little 5 Alliance.
- Freedom Bridge Committee will hold a community meeting at the First Existentialist Church on July 19th.
- Financials- Rohini Kukrega reported the monthly expenditures (Wylde Center & BiRacial Project).
- Fox Bros. will provide dinner for the Membership Meeting.
- Motion to approve the June 11th Minutes passed.
