●Michelle Finney reported on the difficulty that the Membership Committee is having obtaining donated food for the Membership Meetings. Several ideas were proposed as follows: 1) November- members’ pot luck; 2) December-cookie exchange; 3) request donations from 6 restaurants who are still willing to help us-Jan., Feb., Mar., 4) pay $100 toward the restaurant’s donation.
●Financial Report- Rohini Kukrega, Treasurer, reviewed the P&L for 2019. The emphasis of her report was to advise us on what was available to donate to Candler Park Conservancy. Chris Fitzgerald, Treasurer of Fall Fest, reported on the financial status of 2019 Fall Fest. Based on their reports, the Board was able to decide what amount could be donated to Candler Park Conservancy.
● Candler Park Conservancy – Ken Edelstein, CPNO Representative, answered the following questions posed by residents: – “Folks have asked what the Conservancy is doing to better fundraise- There was/is concern that CPNO doesn’t have a big enough voice on the park board given that we are large contributors.- What other organizations are committing to this effort and how much?- Matching funds from the last $60,000 gift: Did that happen? – Whatever amount CPNO feels it can afford, all involved want the same contract that came with the last donation.- There are concerns that CPC doesn’t give updates to CPNO the way it should. This was highlighted after folks began to compare our relationship with Little 5 Alliance, which includes probably an update a day.”
●Messenger- Dana Fowle will use her column next month to explain the relationship between Candler Park Conservancy and Candler Park Neighborhood Organization.
●Sidewalk Project- Matt Kirk, working on the contract, expressed concerned about what is the liability to CPNO.
●Zoning- There is one application for consideration-325 Oakdale Road. Residents are expressing concern regarding the large duplexes being built on small lots. Development Committee will be using the survey to address resident concerns. These concerns will be relayed by letter to the Board of Zoning Adjustment.
The Porch Party on November 16 will be a brunch.
