The meeting was called to order at 7:11 pm by Dana Fowle, President. Motion to adopt the amended agenda passed. Motion to approve the August minutes passed.
Discussion/Votes:
● Movie Night- Discussion centered on plans for the future.
● Ideas for the Messenger- 1) World Suicide Prevention Day; 2) Page Avenue Halloween Party; 3) Atlanta School Superintendant; 4) Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade; 5) Nominating Committee looking for volunteers to run for the Board of Directors;
● Dinner for Membership Meetings- It is getting more difficult to obtain free food from businesses. Potluck dinners may be one solution.
● Zoning- There are two applicants (1270 Euclid Avenue and 1349 McLendon Avenue) and one city wide ordinance ( Z-19-70) that will require voting. Motion to approve the addition of Ann Weinberg and DJ Roedger to the Zoning Committee passed.
● Nominating Committee- Emily Taff has consented to run for 2020 Zoning Chair. The Committee is still seeking nominees for President, Fund Raising, and Membership.
● NPU N- (Matt Kirk) A draft of the new Tree Ordinance will be ready by November. North Druid Hills is not supporting The Olmstead Park FallFest.
● Freedom Park Conservancy has announced that a free ‘Boot Camp’ will be held in the park.
