It’s almost that time of year again, when workers and volunteers get together and… plant trees.
Yes, that’s what is about to happen in Little Five Points and a couple of adjacent streets in Candler park.
The good people at Trees Atlanta and the Little Five Points Business Alliance have set aside Saturday, March 2 to plant more that 50 trees within the commercial areas of L5P and along Seminole; east from Moreland to Euclid Terrace, down Euclid Terrace and up Euclid Avenue.
Trees in front of residences will be planted on the verge, the City-owned right of way between the sidewalk and the street, if there is one. Residents were notified last week with an option to opt out.
Cate Hughes, the Trees Atlanta manager on the project, says the organization usually plans for about one volunteer per tree. That’s a lot of folks.
So… if you are interested in getting your hands dirty on Saturday, please sign up on this Trees Atlanta volunteer form.
Your good green works will be deeply appreciated.
