Safety

Safety is everyone’s responsibility at Candler Park. Responsible vigilance and courtesy to our community and our guests are encouraged of all our residents. Our community partnership with the Atlanta Police Department (APD) enhances our security.

Neighborhood Watch

To supplement the APD efforts, Candler Park has implemented a Neighborhood Watch system.  A neighborhood watch is a collective network in which volunteers help each other to prevent and report crime, and to prepare for other emergencies by stressing observation, common sense, and a willingness to “say something” when we see something. For the duties of Block Captains, click here.

Candler Park / Lake Claire Security Patrol

At its core, the CPLC Patrol is for the betterment of our neighborhoods including improving our quality of life in one of Atlanta’s few truly walkable communities. The Patrol covers Candler Park and Lake Claire, which also make up the entirety of the Atlanta Police Department’s Beat 608. Our off-duty patrolling officers, by patrolling our neighborhoods in the marked CPLC Patrol car, supplement the protection provided by our dedicated Beat Officer and provide policing the city cannot supply.

The CPLC Patrol is a separate entity, independent of CPNO. It is a 501(c)(4) non-profit (tax-exempt but not tax-deductible), governed by a Board of Directors made up of seven of your neighbors dedicated to making our neighborhoods as safe as possible. Members of the Board are subject to two year term limits per office served.

To visit the CPLC Patrol website, click here. Consider joining the Patrol. The more subscribers, the more hours of security patrol we get and the safer our neighborhood can be.
