A quorum being present the meeting was called to order by Zaid Duwaryi, President. The motion to adopt the agenda passed. The motion to approve the November minutes passed.
Zoning-Bill Morris
There is one application, an alcohol license, for 299 Moreland Avenue, Hattie B’s. The Committee voted to support the application. In January, there will be a vote at the NPU level concerning the ‘quick fixes’ to the Zoning Ordinances.
External Affairs-Lindy Kerr
NPU-N is requesting neighborhoods to submit any Bylaw amendment as soon as possible.
Grant money ($4,000 per NPU) will be available for neighborhood improvement projects.
Movie Night- The Board is requesting that Mark Clement, Friends of Candler Park, adjust all advertising materials for Movie Night so that Candler Park Neighborhood Organization has a more prominent space as “presenting sponsor”. Roger Bakeman will arrange sponsor levels for CPNO website. The motion that Candler Park Neighborhood Organization donate up to $2800 to Flick-Nic 2018 for movie rights and restrooms with the condition that all marketing materials prominently display Candler Park Neighborhood Organization as a presenting sponsor will be presented for a vote at the Monday night Membership Meeting.
Website Reimbursement- Roger Bakeman spent $500 of his money during the upgrade of the CPNO website. A motion and a vote will be needed.
Development Committee- The formation of a Development Committee will take place in 2018. Members of the Committee to be appointed are Emily Taff, Charles Hooker, and Chris Fitzgerald.
Messenger Ideas – Susan Rose, Editor, needs articles/ideas for the January issue.
Candler Park Conservancy Grant- Charles Hooker is writing an agreement for Candler Park Neighborhood Organization and the Candler Park Conservancy on how the grant money will be used.
Neighborhood Hero Award- Mark Clement wants to be nominated but the deadline has passed.
Board Transition- New Board Members will assume their duties on January 1, 2018. Roger Bakeman will orient Jennifer Wilds; Zaid Duwayri will orient Dana Fowle; Russell Miller will orient Roger Bakeman.
Monday night dinner will be donated by Maria of Palacsinta Crepes.
Lexa King, Public Safety Officer, announced that she is arranging a presentation by Acerman Security.
