The meeting was called to order at 7:03pm by Christina Hogden, President. The agenda was adopted by unanimous consent. The May Minutes were approved by unanimous consent.
Guest Speaker:
Mary Cox, Freedom Park Conservancy Representative
The Conservancy is establishing a ‘Stewardship Program’ which will include the involvement of the Neighborhoods. FPC Board to increase involvement of the Neighbors, post events, and post photographs of installed art work on website. City will install new artwork, location unknown. FPC wants to be able have a say about location/installation of artwork.
New Business:
Pool Survey- Oscar Hodgen has created a survey regarding the Candler Park Pool. Link will be in the email announcing the Members’ Meeting; Will also place in the Messenger.
Bylaw Committee
Motion to establish a Bylaw Revision Committee with Roger Bakeman and Hallie Meushew as co-chairs passed. We may also need a lawyer as consultant. A Bylaw change regarding absentee voting has been submitted by Sydney Boggess.
Historic Designation Committee is holding hybrid meetings at the Existential Church.
Treasurer Report- Amy Wheeler
Donations for May=$300; Field Day=$800; Yoga=$350
Membership-Roger Bakeman
Mailerlite will be used for email announcements going forward. It cost $126/year for non-profit organizations. Motion to reimburse Roger Bakeman $150:00 for expenses incurred in getting’ Mailerlite’ established passed.
Communications-John Fleming
Submit stories for the Messenger; intend to establish a “Q and A” column for the Messenger.
Safety- Larry Compton
Met with Safety Officer, Michael Lopata, L5PA Safety Chair, from Little Five Points Alliance.
External Affairs- DJ Roedger
Naturalist spoke to NPU about trees. Will also do ‘walk through’ in the neighborhood.
Zoning- Jason Key
New ordinances for the Beltine have been approved by the City Council.
