Messenger – March 2026

April 1, 2026 By Messenger Staff

Messenger Masthead

“The smallest contribution can resonate tremendously in a community of our size.“

Each month in the Presidential Briefing, CPNO President Chris Spruell shares a message to the Candler Park community. Check out this month’s briefing here.

Bank Fraud Resolved

ACH Bank Fraud graphic

By Wood Alter. As many residents may have heard, CPNO was the victim of fraud last fall. First and foremost: as of the time of this publication, all funds stolen from CPNO have been made whole by Chase Bank.

2026 Candler Park Egg Hunt and More

By Lillian Aynes. This spring, the community gathered in Candler Park on March 29 to celebrate with an egg hunt and candy. This year, the tradition expanded from an egg hunt to a larger gathering with even more activities for the children.

Footgolf is Coming to Candler Park Golf Course

By Jake Derry. City of Atlanta Golf is launching a FootGolf pilot program at the Candler Park Golf Course, bringing a new sport and a new crowd to the historic 9-hole course on Candler Park Drive.

Great Shots!

Great things are happening right outside your door. Share them with your neighbors.

Got an eye for the beauty, quirks, and everyday moments that make Candler Park special? Great Shots is our new community photo feature, and we want your photos in it.

Snap something worth sharing — a golden-hour street scene, a neighbor’s garden in full bloom, a moment that just made you smile — and send it our way. Each issue, we’ll showcase the best of what our community sees.

📸 Send your photos to editor@candlerpark.org for a chance to have your photo featured in an upcoming edition of the Messenger.

Upcoming Events

Black Maternal Health Walk & Community Fair – April 11 @ 9am

Each year, this event brings together Black mothers, families, birth workers, advocates, and community members for a vibrant day focused on connection, care, and collective action. The celebration starts with a morning walk and continues with a variety of family-friendly activities, including food, live entertainment, health screenings, local vendors, and access to community resources.

Centered around the theme “Rooted in Justice and Joy,” the gathering highlights healing, resilience, and the strength of community in promoting maternal health equity. The Black Maternal Health Walk and Community Fair is free, open to all, and welcomes those wishing to honor loved ones or stand in support of Black mothers in a shared, inclusive space.

Saturday, April 11 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Candler Park, 1500 McLendon Ave. NE
