Calling All Candler Park Creatives

By Wood Alter
Candler Park artists, this is your opportunity to receive the recognition you deserve for your creative efforts! Have you ever wanted the chance to talk about your work, to be interviewed like a professional artist? Have you felt your work would be appreciated by a larger audience, if only you could get it in front of more people? I would love to provide that experience for you.
As a fellow creative, I will combine my interviewing experience with my lifelong love of analyzing and appreciating art to treat your work with the respect and admiration that all art should be afforded. Each month in our Candler Park Artist Series, I’ll feature one or two guest artists (as long as submissions continue) for their chance to be in the spotlight.
If you are interested in participating, please send a sample of your work along with an artist’s statement to woodalter@gmail.com. All ages are welcome to apply, and our younger neighborhood creators are welcome to request their parents’ help in crafting their statement. I will not feature any lewd subject material for obvious reasons, and I won’t look at anything involving the use of AI for ethical reasons.
Submit your work today to be considered for our inaugural feature!

Paideia’s 2025 Slither Road race

On Saturday, November 15, the Paideia Slither 5K will once again take place through the Candler Park neighborhood. The race will begin at 8:00 am and will conclude by 9:30 am.
The 5K course will start/finish at the school and the course will follow along the streets south of the school. Affected streets will be temporarily blocked to allow runners to safely pass then quickly reopen to allow for traffic. We will have 11 APD officers around the course to direct traffic around the participants. Cones will also be placed along the route to ensure runner safety.
We hope you will join us for a fun morning of running/walking through our beautiful neighborhood. Register for the race at this link: https://raceroster.com/events/2025/107654/the-paideia-slither-5k
