Members’ Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm by Christina Hodgen, President. The agenda was approved by unanimous consent motion. The Minutes were accepted by unanimous consent.
Guest Speakers/Announcements
- Crime/Safety – Zone 6, Sgt. Clanton reported only one crime since the last meeting.
- Saira Draper encouraged early voting and needs volunteers for door knocking Saturdays and Sundays – for Harris.
- Atlanta Public School Board of Education, Ken Zoff, reports that the new superintendant, Dr. Johnson,has placed officers in all schools.
- Thank you to all Fall Fest Volunteers
- Playground will re-open October 23 @ 3:30pm.
- Nominating Committee has the 2025 Slate of Nominees ready.
- Halloween/Little Five Points Page Avenue will be closed 10/31 5-9 pm.
- Decorating Contest – Now through 10/31, 5pm-9pm.
- Lexa King- questioned the availability of the slate. Slate will be out next week and vote is next month.
- Upcoming Events
- Fall Fest Ball announced as September 28th
- Fall Fest is Oct. 5+6
- Membership eligibility almost complete-only nine ‘members’ not verified
Committee Updates
- Treasurer Report (Amy Wheeler)
- Tour of Homes and Fall Fest raised over $20,000
- Infrastructure Committee (Naoya Wada)
- Waiting for permits; working on the intersection McLendon and Clifton to make it safer.
- Need volunteers first weekend in November.(8am-1pm)
- Zoning – V24-171 (1521 McLendon) reduces set back from 35ft to 16.4ft
- Historic Designation Committee (Emily Taff)
- Emily Taff explained the Historic District motion which is: To Initiate the Nomination of a Candler Park Historic District by submitting the proposed regulations as amended, to the Atlanta Urban League Commission.
