Back in September an Atlanta City Councilmember Howard Shook introduced Ordinance Z-20-69, a proposal that would ban Short Term Rentals (like Airbnb, VRBO, or any rental less than 30 days) in “single family” residential areas. Candler Park discussed this ordinance in October and vote in November not to support Ordinance Z-20-69.
However, it was clear after hearing from neighbors both for and against the proposed STR ban that there are definitely issues with short term rentals which need to be addressed and hopefully could be addressed through future legislation.
A substitute ordinance (20-O-1656) was introduced in early January and will be voted on at the February 25 NPU-N Meeting. (Zoom info HERE)
