Around 30 volunteers gathered in the plaza behind The Clothing Warehouse before proceeding a block up Seminole Avenue for a demo by Cate Hughes and Lee, another Trees Atlanta employee, on proper tree prep, hole sizing and berm construction. Two groups formed, with one crossing over into Candler Park to plant a line of trees up Euclid Avenue and down Euclid Terrace.

“Street trees are one of the key ingredients in making a place more walkable, and that’s definitely something we embrace in Little 5 Points,” Lauren Welsh, executive director of the Little 5 Points Alliance and one of the organizers of the event, said. “Trees Atlanta has been a wonderful partner in these efforts, and we appreciate their support!”
