Schools

Public Schools

Candler Park is part of the Midtown Cluster of the Atlanta Public School system. Residents of Candler Park are zoned for the following schools:
Mary Lin Elementary — grades K–5, 586 Candler Park Drive, Atlanta GA 30307
David T. Howard Middle School — grades 6–8, 551 John Wesley Dobbs Ave, Atlanta GA 30312
Midtown High School — grades 9–12, 929 Charles Allen Drive, Atlanta GA 30309

These schools—with four additional elementary schools (Hope-Hill, Morningside, Virginia-Highlands Elementary, and Springdale Park) and two K-8 charter schools (Centennial Academy and Kindezi Old Fourth Ward)—make up the Midtown cluster. This cluster is supported by the Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools (CINS), a nonprofit organization, through community engagement, advocacy, and investment.

The APS system includes six districts, with Candler Park being in District Three.  Here is a map of the APS districts. For more information, visit the APS web site.

Ken Zeff, ken.zeff@atlanta.k12.ga.us, is the District 3 representative. To learn more about monthly district updates, sign up here for his newletter. Here is a list of the other APS Board members.

Candler Park is also represented by two at-large APS Board Representatives:
Kaycee Brock: kaycee.brock@atlanta.k12.ga.us and
Alfred Shivy Brooks: Shivy.Brooks@atlanta.k12.ga.us
