Bringing Happy Hour Back to CPNO

June 26, 2026 By CPNO Staff

By Sarah Cusick, Membership Officer. On a Wednesday evening in June members of CPNO gathered at The Porter in Little 5 Points to have a drink in the neighborhood and meet new friends. A last-minute call went out to the organization over email and we were thrilled that so many people from across Candler Park came out.

Since the current board had not hosted an event like this before, we conservatively reserved a table for 15. Fortunately for us, the lovely folks at The Porter allowed our group to entirely take over the back of the restaurant where we topped out at 40 neighbors. The lone bartender kept the beers pouring at an impressive clip considering how many different fancy glasses he had to pull out. We enjoyed deviled eggs and The Porter’s famous cheese sticks and popcorn while listening to Candler Park origin stories which were as diverse as the beer glasses.

We aim to host more of these events in the near future. The next one will be in August. Shortly after that we’ll gear up for Fall Fest (October 3rd & 4th) with the annual Candler Park Fall Ball in its new location- The Wrecking Bar! Keep an eye out for more information on our website (candlerpark.org), Instagram (candler_park), and Facebook.

Thanks for coming out, y’all! And thanks to The Porter for providing such excellent service for our impromptu meet up.
