Come meet your local police and firemen on Sterling Street, August 4, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, for National Night Out. NNO is “a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships.” It’s being held this year, as it has been the last few years, on Sterling Street between McLendon and Euclid.
Cool treats will be provided. Just look for the ice cream truck. It’s a great chance for us all to enjoy talking to our neighbors and our police and firemen. And the kids always enjoy seeing police cars and fire engines up close. Historical note: This revives a tradition from the 1990s when National Night Out was combined with a CPNO monthly meeting in Candler Park.
