This month I visited a Candler Park staple, Flying Biscuit. Founded in 1993, Flying Biscuit is known for serving breakfast all day. The cafe was originally located on McClendon Avenue, but was relocated to Dekalb Avenue in 2024. The Dekalb Avenue location has a very family-friendly atmosphere, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The menu has a wide variety of traditional southern breakfast and brunch dishes, with some vegan and vegetarian options as well.
For the appetizer, I ordered the firecracker shrimp, which is shrimp topped with avocado, thai chili sauce, and pineapple pico. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the pico and chili was the perfect combination of spicy and sweet flavors.
For the entree, I ordered the classic chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and great for sharing.
Overall, the family friendly atmosphere of the cafe and the selection of breakfast and lunch make it an excellent option for a morning outing, whether you’re looking to grab a biscuit and coffee or
have a delicious breakfast with family and friends.
