By Audrey Hall. This year’s Fall Fest Tour of Homes was a rousing success! Thankfully the warm, sunny weather was ideal for strolling around the neighborhood, as the eight featured houses encompassed a large area, from the northwest corner of Candler Park to the east end of McLendon in Lake Claire. About 200 tickets were sold in support of this long-loved fundraiser for CPNO.
As always, our Lake Claire neighbor and generous sponsor, Cynthia Baer, feted the organizers and homeowners on the Thursday before the Tour and was on hand day-of with her fabulous team to help sell tickets and give away both freebies and raffle prizes.
The Tour’s lead organizer, Michell Thurmond, began the planning back in March with a committee meeting at her home, followed by several hours over the spring and summer of combing the neighborhood to nominate homes with particularly lovely curb appeal. In the end, eight residences were selected with a wide variety of architectural and interior design styles, ages, renovation histories, and personal stories.
If you haven’t seen this year’s crop of homes, don’t miss their details on the Fall Fest website! Many of the homeowners’ professional talents and creativity were on full display, with architects, interior designers, photographers, and fine artists all hosting this year. Visitors loved getting to meet the homeowners and experience CP/LC’s relaxed, friendly lifestyle in action. At more than one residence, windows and doors were flung open, food was on the grill, and drinks were flowing!
It takes a village, and the organizing committee would like to reiterate our thanks to our gracious homeowners; to our sponsors: Cynthia Baer, Red Level Renovations, City Issue Atlanta, Falcon Design Build, and SCAL Home; to our content creators and managers: Andrew Hetherington, Clay Cameron, Emily Taff, and Will Briganti; to our pit stop hosts: Candler Park Market and Neighborhood Church; to the volunteers and volunteer coordinator, Ernest Son; and to Michell Thurmond, Amy Wheeler, Audrey Hall, and the entire Fall Fest team. (Check out our slide show below.)
The committee is looking forward to 2027 with an exciting roster of homeowners already declaring their interest. We can’t wait to show off our beautiful neighborhood again, strengthening the connections between those who live here and welcoming those who journey in for this unique event.
